The writin...Yeah, that's really what ruined it. The writing was just terrible. The worst part of the writing was probably the detachment which really ruined the book. Shouldn't a book about a subject like this have fairly emotional writing? I must admit th...Too bad this one wasn’t very good. I must admit that, like you said, novels about the Holocaust are somewhat overdone (no offense to these people’s suffering and such, obviously). In order for a novel set inside a concentration camp to make an impact, it had better be very well written, and it doesn’t sound like this one was.
